The 2020 China (Guangzhou) International Emergency Safety Expo was held from August 25 to 27 in the Poly World Trade Center Exhibition Hall of Guangzhou, capital city of south China’s Guangdong province.

The expo captured a total intended trade volume of two billion yuan ($294.6 million), helping the market recovery of the emergency industry in South China and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). It also promoted the resumption of work and production of the upstream and downstream industrial chains of the exhibition industry, and shored up confidence in industrial recovery and development in the context of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

This year’s expo included an offline exhibition covering an area of 40,000 square meters and an online one. It attracted 625 brand owners in major emergency safety fields, involving modern emergency rescue equipment and technologies, emergency medical treatment, informatization and intelligent management and disaster and epidemic prevention.

A total of 1,500 products and more than 400 technologies debuted at the expo, showcasing the scientific and technological achievements of the suppliers and manufacturers of the emergency safety industry in an all-round way.

The expo provided a platform of communication and cooperation for industrial and academic circles. A number of forums and summits were held during the event to share thoughts from the frontline and discuss the pivotal issues and development direction of China's emergency safety industry.

As a part of resource-pooling efforts, the expo set up matchmaking meetings for procurement projects of central enterprises and real estate companies. It invited the procurement and security departments of more than 10 central enterprises including Sinomach and over 30 real estate companies and general contractors to participate in the meetings, which provided buyers and sellers with immediate services for trading.

The expo also organized the 2020 Guangdong Rescue Skills Competition, the first skills competition for social emergency rescue organizations in Guangdong. It attracted more than 240 participants from 36 social emergency rescue teams.

The activity popularized the knowledge and concept of emergency rescue among the people of the GBA in a bid to intensify the public’s awareness of risk prevention as well as the strength and level of emergency rescue personnel.
