New overseas contract
SUMEC Engineering has signed a contract for the Makunduchi 18 MWp Solar Power Plant. As a flagship project supporting Zanzibar’s energy transition, the company will provide end-to-end project services and professional training for local utility staff, helping build local technical capacity and ensure long-term, sustainable operation. Once completed, the project will significantly improve power supply stability and reliability, thereby supporting local livelihoods and economic development.

New domestic delivery
The equipment procurement project for the Phase 1, Step 2 expansion of the Longtan Hydropower plant, in which SUMEC Engineering participated, has successfully passed final acceptance and been officially handed over for operation. The project expands treatment capacity to 200,000 tons per day, with the company responsible for supplying and installing all electromechanical and instrumentation equipment. Upon full operation, the plant’s total capacity will reach 400,000 tons per day, easing water supply pressure in northeastern Nanjing and supporting sustainable urban development. For years, SUMEC has been supporting the Belt and Road Initiative and the vision of a “Beautiful China”, focusing on green and low-carbon development. To date, it has participated in overseas renewable energy projects—covering solar, wind, and hybrid systems—with a total installed capacity exceeding 4 GW, and delivered over 300 domestic water treatment projects with a combined capacity of more than 30 million tons per day.

Looking ahead, SUMEC will continue delivering high-quality projects and contributing to a sustainable future where humanity and nature thrive together.
