Mauritanian prime minister praises CNEEC dual-fuel power plant project

Mauritania's Prime Minister, Moktar Ould Ajay, recently inspected the 60MW dual-fuel power plant project undertaken by China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC), a subsidiary of Sinomach. He commended the project's progress, noting that it plays a crucial role in addressing Mauritania's energy challenges and improving people's livelihoods. He also expressed hope that the project would be completed safely, on schedule, and to high quality standards, bringing new momentum to the nation's economic and social development. As the first power generation project constructed by a Chinese enterprise in Mauritania, it stands as a milestone in China-Mauritania energy cooperation and a key outcome marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Once operational, the project will deliver sustainable benefits to the Mauritanian people and serve as a model of China-Africa cooperation in energy and livelihood improvement.
Luapula Province solar power project in Zambia completes module installation
The 50MW solar power project in Luapula Province, Zambia — contracted by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), designed by China Machinery International Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CMIE), and constructed by the China Jikan Research Institute of Engineering Investigations and Design Co., Ltd. (JK Institute) — has completed the installation of all photovoltaic modules. This marks a major milestone in project progress, laying a solid foundation for full-capacity grid connection. Once operational, it will generate over 100 million kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, easing regional power shortages, supporting economic growth in remote areas, and promoting Zambia's transition toward a cleaner energy structure. It represents a meaningful step in advancing ecological protection and improving local livelihoods.
CNEEC signs PC contract for battery project in Azerbaijan
China National Electric Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNEEC) has recently signed a PC (procurement and construction) contract with Sichuan Heguang Tongcheng Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. for the first-phase battery project in the Alat Free Economic Zone of Azerbaijan. This project is the first new energy industrial project implemented in the zone following the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Azerbaijan, giving it significant demonstration value. Against the backdrop of accelerating energy transition across Central Asia, the project's output will primarily serve international markets, highlighting the complementary advantages between the two countries in the clean energy sector. Scheduled to begin construction in October, the project will strengthen China's role in the global new energy manufacturing chain, contributing to overseas industrialization and sustainable green development.
