CNEEC and Belneftekhim to explore better cooperation in energy

China National Electric Engineering Co (CNEEC), a subsidiary of Sinomach, and the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry (Belneftekhim) signed a memorandum of understanding on a five-year strategic energy plan for Belarus (2021-25) via a video conference held on March 10.
At the online meeting, the two sides had in-depth discussions and reached consensus on cooperation in energy and other sectors in Belarus and even Russian markets over the next five years.
Both sides will seek win-win results by means of enhancing cooperation in energy storage technology, electric vehicle charging technology, promotion of Belarusian sophisticated electrical products, and joint development of international projects.
A Belneftekhim representative spoke highly of the Vitebsk Hydropower Station Project undertaken by CNEEC in Belarus, and noted that the project has been acknowledged by the Belarusian government along with the owner and partners, adding that more cooperation is expected to be developed with CNEEC.
Based on the example of the Vitebsk Hydropower Station Project, CNEEC will consolidate its foundation in the Belarusian market and further develop the markets of surrounding areas.
The company will continue to follow the principle of high quality and innovative development, make progress in project development in Eastern Europe, take an active part in the Belt and Road Initiative construction, and promote the common development of CNEEC and Belneftekhim.
