The intergovernmental handover ceremony for the China-aided Seychelles Broadcasting and Television Center project was recently held in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. The event was attended by President Wavel Ramkalawan, Vice President Ahmed Afif, Speaker of the National Assembly Roger Mancienne, Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles Lin Nan, and other representatives from both countries.

Vice President Afif remarked that the project is a testament to the deep friendship between Seychelles and China. Once operational, the new center is expected to inject fresh momentum into the country's media sector, fostering its growth and delivering tangible benefits to the Seychellois people. He also expressed hopes for broader and deeper cooperation with China in the future.

Ambassador Lin noted that the relationship between China and Seychelles is a model of sincere friendship and mutual support between countries, regardless of their size. He emphasized the critical role of television in modern society — as a platform for information, cultural preservation, and social development. The official handover of the project, he said, marks a new chapter in cultural exchange and cooperation between the two nations.

Located in Victoria, the facility adopts a courtyard-style layout and houses radio and television technical rooms, offices, together with auxiliary spaces. It is also equipped with broadcasting systems, office furnishings, and kitchen facilities.
