Sinomach's China National Electric Engineering Co (CNEEC) has secured the contract for the 60MW dual-fuel power plant project awarded by Mauritanian Electricity Company (SOMELEC). This achievement not only reinforces the company's technical expertise in energy solutions but also marks its successful entry into a new market, strengthening its footprint in Africa's energy sector.

Located in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, the project will see CNEEC serve as the EPC general contractor, overseeing the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of four dual-fuel generator sets, booster stations, and supporting facilities. Additionally, the company will provide two-year operation and maintenance services after project completion.

Scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, the project will help address local power shortages, improving livelihoods and driving economic development. The use of dual-fuel technology, allowing flexibility between natural gas and heavy oil, will also contribute to Mauritania's green and low-carbon energy goals by significantly reducing emissions.

By aligning with the country's energy development plans and leveraging its expertise in power infrastructure and new energy, CNEEC has demonstrated its competitive edge and gained strong recognition from project stakeholders.
