China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach) played a major role in the documentary series The Belt and Road which has aired daily on CCTV-1 since Sept 5.

Sinomach was chosen as a key interviewee for the documentary which focuses on the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road that connects China to the world.

Sinomach is one of China’s earliest enterprises to go global and plays an essential part in the 'One Belt and One Road' Initiative. It has launched 317 projects across 39 countries and regions, and has contracts worth about 132.6 billion yuan ($19.9 billion).

From 2015 to 2016, the film crew traveled to Sinomach’s branches in the states and regions along the belt and the road, such as Myanmar, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Belarus, showing the group’s tremendous development under the initiative.

The crew completed a journey of some 200,000 kilometers, visiting dozens of key projects, historic spots and major international non-governmental organizations (NGO), such as the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The six-episode series, began in 2015, and aims to tell the story of the progress China has made in interactions with countries and regions along the belt and road in infrastructure, finance, trade, cultural and ecological exchanges.
