The Bishkek Waste-to-Energy Project in Kyrgyzstan—Central Asia's first waste incineration power generation facility—has been officially completed and put into operation. The project includes equipment supplied by Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co Ltd (BMH), a subsidiary of China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd (CAMCE). Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and representatives from both China and Kyrgyzstan attended the commissioning ceremony.

As a landmark project integrating solid waste treatment and green energy in Central Asia, the facility addresses Bishkek's long-standing waste disposal challenges. It has significantly improved the local ecological environment and living conditions, created nearly 100 jobs, and converted waste into clean electricity, achieving annual carbon reductions of around 100,000 tons. The project marks a major step forward in the region's transition toward harmless, reduced, and resource-based waste management.

BMH supplied key sets of lifting equipment for the project, including two 18-ton waste grab cranes, one 8-ton ash grab crane, and a turbine hall bridge crane. As BMH's first project in the Central Asian market, it represents an important milestone. The reliable delivery of core equipment supported the project's completion and commissioning within just 16 months, demonstrating both the speed and quality of Chinese manufacturing.

The successful operation of the project fills a technological gap in waste-to-energy development in Central Asia and provides a replicable model for urban solid waste treatment and energy transition across the region. It also marks another successful implementation of Chinese lifting solutions along the Belt and Road and lays a solid foundation for BMH's continued participation in green infrastructure development in Central Asia and beyond. Looking ahead, BMH will continue to invest in intelligent and green technologies, contributing Chinese expertise and solutions to global sustainable development.
