Noting that the China-aided Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium has been known as a symbol of China-Bahamas friendship, Dai said that Chinese enterprises have done their utmost to help Bahamas host the IAAF World Relays, ushering in a new chapter of friendship. He hoped that the two countries will further deepen their bilateral cooperation and deliver more tangible benefits to the people of the two states.

Davis showed his thanks to China for helping Bahamas overcome challenges and promote the construction of the project, which had injected new vitality into the development of Bahamian sports and tourism industries. He stressed that the infrastructural project has become a strong bond of friendship between the two countries and marked a new height in the China-Bahamas partnership.

The renovation project covers an area of approximately 18,000 square meters and has a seat capacity of 15,000. It is mainly designed to comprehensively renovate the stadium and improve its infrastructural facilities. Upon its completion, the stadium will boast more modern and advanced facilities, become a cultural exchange center, and bear great importance for improving the health of the Bahamian people, bolstering ethnic unity and promoting sports development there.

All people of the project team will engage in closer collaboration with the Bahamian government and local business partners and make full use of resources available to guarantee the completion of the sports infrastructure and the opening of the world-class sports event in this May. The renovation project will push for harmonious and integrated development and the building of a shared destiny for humanity in the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
