Sinomach helps Bolivia explore lithium resources

Awareness of the significance of the Belt and Road Initiative, or BRI, in advancing policy, infrastructure, trade, financial and people-to-people connectivity, and fostering new growth drivers for different nations, has been increasing around the world. Sinomach eyes developing more BRI projects to promote international cooperation in production capacity and trade and infrastructure construction, and presenting more gifts to its BRI friends.

Undertaken by Sinomach subsidiary China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), a lithium carbonate plant will be built in the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat. The plant, part of Bolivia's efforts to develop its lithium resources, is designed to produce 15,000 tons of lithium carbonate per year for use in batteries.
The project will promote local employment and improve the construction ability and technical level of local workers, bringing social and economic benefits to the country, according to Xinhua, China's state news agency.
