Stainless-steel continuous slab caster starts production in Indonesia

The stainless-steel continuous slab caster modernized by Sinomach subsidiary China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co Ltd (SINO-HEAVYMACH) has been completed and tested well in Indonesia. The machine to date has produced 16,460 tons of qualified steel billets without difficulty, establishing a sound foundation for SINO-HEAVYMACH's further development in the Malaysian market.

SINO-HEAVYMACH has installed many independently developed advanced technologies in the production line's main equipment. It only took one month to complete those installations, and only three and a half days to complete commissioning and cold testing, which set a company record for fastest commissioning of a continuous casting machine.

Processing plant starts construction in oil and gas fields in Iraq

Twelve CFG (cement-fly ash-gravel) piles have been laid for an oil plant at Block 9 in the Al-Fayha Oil Field in Basra Province, Iraq. The project includes a central oil processing facility to produce 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day and a gas processing facility with a daily capacity of 130 million standard cubic feet.

Block 9 is a conventional onshore oil field in Iraq, covering an area of around 900 square kilometers. It is close to infrastructure and numerous producing and appraised oil fields. The oil produced from the exploration block is one of the best types of oil globally.

Sinomach subsidiary China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd (CAMCE) has participated in the project construction as one of the contractors, marking a further indication of China's expanding footprint in Iraq's energy sector.
