The project started in February 2019. CMEC has worked closely with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity to ensure high quality and standard construction progress. CMEC has made positive efforts to alleviate the power shortage and improved people's livelihood in southern Iraq, which has been highly recognized by the project owner and all sectors of society including the Iraqi government.

A China-aided medical building at the Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak Hospital in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia, has successfully passed completion inspection two months ahead of schedule.

The medical building, designed by Sinomach subsidiary China IPPR International Engineering Co Ltd (IPPR), was developed with an aid grant from the Chinese government which was meant to help improve health services in Cambodia, according to the project's technical team leader.

He noted that it will become the first hospital in Cambodia with a modern medical concept of low energy consumption and high quality.

The 11-story building has 400 beds and is equipped with high-tech medical equipment including a healthcare information system. It is divided into different units such as surgery, outpatient services, emergency, medical technology, hospitalization and logistics.

Construction work on the project started in October 2018, and is expected to be completed by the end of February. Thanks to effective management measures taken by the IPPR team, the project finalized the job two months ahead of schedule and smoothly passed the completion inspection, overcoming the grave challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The hospital will further promote cooperation between China and Cambodia and deepen the bond of friendship between their respective peoples.

Cambodian Health Minister Mam Bunheng said during a visit to the construction site that the project was a huge achievement in the country's health sector, and thanked China for funding it.
