The UK Department for Business and Trade recently sent a delegation to China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) — a subsidiary of Sinomach — led by Mike McCourt, the department's assistant director of life sciences and healthcare. The two parties held wide-ranging exchanges covering hospital planning and designs, engineering construction, operations and maintenance, and international cooperation in the healthcare industry.

McCourt thanked CAMCE for its warm reception for his delegation. He gave a briefing on his country's modern hospital construction standards, its full-lifecycle operation and maintenance management concepts, and experience in establishing international cooperation platforms. 

The UK official said he looked forward to in-depth and pragmatic cooperation with CAMCE in multiple areas. 

These included collaborative designs of medical buildings aligned with clinical needs, layouts and workflow optimizations for large general hospitals and the construction standards of green, low-carbon and sustainable hospitals. 

He also expressed the hope that the two sides would exchange their know-how in the construction of hospitals and their operations and work together to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
