CMEC Group advances green development through pollution reduction and carbon mitigation
(sinomach.com.cn)
2026-05-09Leveraging its full industry-chain strengths in ecological and environmental protection, China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) Group, a subsidiary of Sinomach, has recently made progress in multiple sectors such as hazardous waste treatment, clean energy, and resource recycling — supporting coordinated pollution reduction and carbon mitigation efforts.
Bolstering ecological security through technology

China United Northwest Institute for Engineering Design & Research Co., Ltd. (CUCED), a subsidiary of CMEC Group, has won the design contract for the Northwest Regional Hazardous Waste Environmental Risk Prevention and Control Technology Center in Xi'an, Shaanxi province.
The project includes eight laboratories dedicated to hazardous waste characterization and will serve as a national-level environmental laboratory integrating hazard identification, risk assessment, prevention and control, technology R&D, data monitoring, and emergency response. Upon completion, the center will focus on core scientific research in environmental hazard identification, risk assessment, and prevention technologies, providing robust technical support for hazardous waste management and ecological protection in Northwest China and the Yellow River Basin.
Improving solid waste treatment efficiency

China Machinery International Engineering Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CMIE), a subsidiary of CMEC Group, has secured the consulting contract for a waste-to-energy equipment upgrade project in Yuxi, Yunnan province.
The project will upgrade key systems including waste incineration, flue gas purification, and ash treatment, while optimizing process and energy performance. Upon completion, it is expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 228 tons and improve the harmless, reduced, and resource-efficient treatment of municipal waste.
Exploring green integrated development

China Jikan Research Institute of Engineering Investigations and Design Co., Ltd. (JK Institute), a subsidiary of CMEC Group, has undertaken the design of a 220 kV booster station for a 100 MW agrivoltaic project in Xuancheng, Anhui province.
The project adopts an innovative "solar panels above, tea plantations below" model, combining photovoltaic power generation with tea cultivation to maximize land-use efficiency. Once completed, it will serve as a model project for integrated "PV + agriculture" development in southern Anhui and support the region's green and low-carbon transition.
