Led by Sinomach Hainan, the project brings together the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences' Institute of Tropical Crop Germplasm Resources and the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF) in a consortium. Funded by the World Bank and the French Development Agency, it is recognized as one of Angola's key agricultural consulting projects of the year.

Avocado, known for its strong ecological adaptability and growing international demand, is considered one of Angola's most promising specialty crops. This study will systematically examine the current situation and opportunities across the value chain, including production, processing, logistics, marketing, and export, identify opportunities, and put forward practical recommendations. It will also explore value chain models suited to local conditions, promote high-quality seedling cultivation, support agricultural machinery application, and strengthen value chain construction, laying the groundwork for nationwide adoption in Angola.

Signing of the contract marks a concrete step by Sinomach Hainan to deeply implement Sinomach Group's international development strategy. It also reflects the company's active response to the guidance delivered during the Group's research mission to Angola in April, accelerating its business transformation and deepening China-Africa agricultural cooperation. Moreover, this initiative aligns with Sinomach Hainan's strategy of advancing the "one country, one type of machines, one product, one variety, one method, one plantation, one chain" market strategy through the Group's Southwest Africa Agricultural Regional Center.

Looking ahead, Sinomach Hainan will continue to leverage Sinomach Group's comprehensive strengths in agricultural technologies, international operations, and localized overseas teams. Together with the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences and ICRAF, it will enhance cooperation in germplasm resources, cultivation techniques, and research application. Starting with avocados, the initiative will foster value chain growth for more tropical specialty crops, gradually expand into agricultural equipment, demonstration parks, and full-industry chain services, and build a model for China-Angola agricultural cooperation, making new contributions to deepening China-Africa friendship and partnership.
