2025-05-12On April 12, during Sinomach Vice President Li Xiaoyu's working visit to Ethiopia, China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMC) signed a design and consultancy services contract for the Torhayloch Hospital project with Joy Family Investment Limited. This marks the company's sixth newly signed overseas medical project this year. Leveraging the technical expertise of its affiliated enterprise, China IPPR International Engineering Co., Ltd. (IPPR), in medical architecture, CAMC has developed a tailoired design plan to ensure optimal functional zoning and efficient operations. Notably, the project also incorporates elements of historical architecture found on-site, seamlessly blending heritage with modern design.
The project covers a total construction area of 151,000 square meters and will offer 1,280 hospital beds. CAMC will deliver full-process services including site surveys, master planning, medical workflow design, and architectural design — aligning with international standards to create a state-of-the-art medical complex.

In recent years, CAMC and IPPR have strengthened synergies, aligning closely with local needs and relying on their world class design and consulting capabilities to drive international growth. The company has continuously expanded its footprint in regions including Central America, the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa — developing a set of replicable competitive advantages in medical infrastructure and laying a robust foundation for sustained global expansion.
This project also represents a concrete step in implementing the "Health Partnership Action" under the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. It marks an important milestone in advancing China-Ethiopia collaboration in medical infrastructure and contributes to building a "health bridge" between the two nations. Once completed, the hospital will significantly elevate the standard of healthcare services in Ethiopia and reflect the shared vision of a global community of health for all.
