The fifth China-Finland Committee for Innovative Business Cooperation meeting took place in Beijing at the end of October. Zhang Xiaolun, chairman of Sinomach and chief Chinese representative on the committee, delivered a keynote speech at the gathering.

In his address, Zhang presented three recommendations for strengthening innovation and cooperation between Chinese and Finnish enterprises. He proposed deepening economic and trade exchanges by leveraging the China-Finland Committee as a key platform, expanding areas of collaboration to share development gains, and enhancing cooperation in third-party markets to support enterprises in global expansion, achieving mutual benefits and tackling global economic challenges together.

The meeting's panel discussion saw more than 50 Chinese and Finnish representatives exchange views on circular economy, sustainable growth and responsible consumption. This dialogue fostered consensus on strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing global challenges. The sectors represented included advanced manufacturing, agri-food, biomedicine, financial services, cross-border e-commerce, energy conservation and environmental protection.

Prior to the opening ceremony, Zhang Xiaolun met with Jussi Herlin, the Finnish chairman of the committee and vice-chairman of KONE Elevator. They discussed ways to deepen collaboration between Chinese and Finnish enterprises within the committee's framework.

Established in April 2017, the China-Finland Committee for Innovative Business Cooperation aims to promote enterprise-driven innovation between the two countries. The committee guides innovation initiatives, provides policy recommendations for economic and trade cooperation and serves as a platform for deepening enterprise-level innovation partnerships.

Sinomach currently serves as the chair of the Chinese delegation, with 16 Chinese enterprises participating as governing members.
