GAC Aion launches smart factory in Thailand

Attending the opening ceremony on July 17 were Pimphattra Wichaikul, the Thai minister of industry; Narit Therdsteerasukdi, secretary-general of the Thailand Board of Investment; Zeng Qinghong, a representative of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand and chairman of GAC Group; Gu Huinan, general-manager of GAC Aion; Ma Haiyang, general-manager of Aion Southeast Asia; Xu Zhijun, deputy general-manager of the Automotive Engineering Corporation (AE Corp); and Xia Weijiang, head of AE’s Sales & Management Department.
The intelligent factory, which has a relatively small scale but rapidly efficient production, was built by AE Corp, which is a subsidiary of the Sinomach. The factory will adopt the company's latest technologies and support the upgrading of the EV industrial capacity and industrial eco-system in Thailand through the roll-out of the "lighthouse factory" smart system.

The smooth completion of the new smart factory has become a symbol of in-depth collaboration between GAC Aion and AE Corp. It has demonstrated the outstanding strength of AE in the field of intelligent manufacturing and provided the leading Chinese VE carmaker with a tremendous boost in its overseas expansion.
AE Corp has received high praise from GAC Aion for its professionalism, high-quality products and services demonstrated throughout the construction of the factory.

Going forward, AE Corp says it intends to firmly adhere to the principle that customers come first, provide clients with advanced technologies and high-quality services, and pair up with both domestic and international carmakers in the writing of a new chapter for the further development of the new energy vehicle market.
