A new roughly 8,200-kilometer freight train connection between the Russian capital Moscow and Luoyang in Central China's Henan province has been launched to further link the two countries together.

The first China-Europe freight train between Luoyang and Moscow recently set off from the Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port, which was built by Sinomach subsidiary YTO Group Corporation (YTO). It is the only direct international freight train from Henan province to Russia.

The train has a total of 50 containers loaded with imported and exported products including household appliances, electromechanical devices, office supplies and furniture. Starting from Luoyang, it passes through Mongolia along the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, transits Russia's Trans-Siberian Land Bridge Siberian, and is scheduled to arrive in the capital after a journey of 18 days.

It is the second China-Europe freight train operated independently by the Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port since the China-Europe line was opened in 2020.

The newly launched freight train will meet the export demands for products of YTO and areas around Luoyang, and perfect the system of the China-Europe international freight train line along the northern part of the Eurasian Land Bridge operated by Henan province. It will also help Sino-Russia trade and economic cooperation sustain upward momentum.

The two countries have cultivated new growth drivers such as cross-border e-commerce, low-carbon transformation, bio-pharmaceutical industries and cultural creativity.
