YTO Group Corporation (YTO), a subsidiary of Sinomach, recently rolled out a new series of “Dongfanghong” battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with a loading capacity of 18 tons to transfer removable totally-enclosed garbage compression stations. It marks YTO’s another leap forward in new energy vehicles (NEVs) research and development and particularly in the market of sanitation vehicles.

The 18-ton Dongfanhong BEVs which serve as refuse transfer trucks run well since they were put into service a month ago, according to a sanitation worker.

The newly-developed vehicle-mounted refuse transfer station is composed of Dongfanghong refuse transfer trucks and mobile fully-enclosed garbage compression stations.

The fully-enclosed ones were designed to replace the original open-air waste collection stations, effectively avoiding secondary pollution; and the BEVs replace the previous fuel powered sanitation vehicles, realizing zero emissions, no pollution and no odor.

In recent years, YTO has rolled out new products in a continuous manner and maintained a contribution rate above 60 percent, being a front-runner in the field of sanitation BEVs in China.

In 2020, YTO expanded the traditional vehicles and created sanitation vehicles in line with national emission standards, and focused on the research and development of large sanitation BEVs. The company strives to push into the market with high-end products and has launched cleaning BEVs, dust suppression BEVs, waste transfer BEVs and other related series.

In addition to the Dongfanhong sanitation BEVs, YTO has also developed the LT5251ZLJBEV pure electric heavy-duty dump truck, which can travel 200 kilometers with a maximum load of 32 tons.

“The new heavy-duty dump truck introduces a brand new pure electric platform, and is equipped with domestic advanced power assembly and power battery as well as a better control system, achieving zero emissions in the true sense,” said a company executive. He said that it is the first time any company has conducted mass production and sales of pure electric heavy engineering trucks in Henan province.

YTO will take self-reliance and self-improvement through science and technology as a weapon to win more market share and continue to pursue high-quality development.
