At the National Science and Technology Awards Conference, in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, on Jan 8, some subsidiaries of the China National Machinery Industry Corp (Sinomach) walked away with invention and scientific progress awards.

One project involving for aircraft loads from Yan Chuliang, of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, got an award for solving a problem of plane loads for ensuring flight safety and has been used on thousands of planes and has brought economic, social, and military benefits and increases the service life of planes.

A China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute project for aircraft aluminum alloy marked a breakthrough in aluminum alloy plate production reducing the need for imported metal and providing material support for large aircraft.

The Wuxi Drilling Tools Factory Co got an award for geological core drilling equipment which has been used across the country and exported to more than 20 countries, taking 70 percent of the market in this core drilling equipment.

And the Electric Science Co Tianjin Research Institute project for key technology for giant water turbine control systems solved a technical problem at the international level.
