On May 17, the Thailand TPI PP 60MW Refuse Incineration and 30MW Cement Kiln Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant Project EPC Contract was signed at TPI PL headquarters in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The contract value was USD 102 million.

The project is located in the TPI PL cement plant in Saraburi Province, 160km northeast of Bangkok and consists of two main components: Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF) Incineration Generation and Cement Kiln Waste Heat Recovery Generation.

The refuse incineration generation unit is equipped with 2×130t/h circulating fluidized-bed boilers and 1×60MW steam turbine generator. The cement kiln waste heat recovery generation unit is equipped with 2 waste heat recovery boilers and 1×30MW steam turbine generator. The project will reduce the amount of local land occupied for landfill, realize the integrated utilization of cinder from refuse incineration in cement production, and adequately recover and utilize the waste heat generated from cement production processes. The project has great significance for the local energy conservation and environmental protection efforts in Thailand and promises remarkable economic and social value for the owner TPI PL.

As the first energy-conserving and environmentally friendly power plant that combines refuse incineration and cement kiln waste heat recovery, this project will have the highest unit capacity. This is CNEEC’s first EPC project in the field of refuse incineration and cement kiln waste heat recovery generation. The project will implement several technological breakthroughs, including: the first 130t/h circulating fluidized-bed boiler for incineration of sorted refuse and waste tires; and the first power plant to systematically integrate refuse incineration boilers with cement kiln waste heat recovery and realize a waste heat recovery generation capacity of 30MW with a single 10000t/d cement line.
