The hospital, developed by Sinomach affiliate China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd (CAMCE) in Chone, a town in Ecuador, has provided high-quality medical services to local governments and people. The project, which began construction in 2018 and was officially handed over in 2021, is the first China-aided complete engineering project provided to Ecuador.
The project is to help the region build a modern 120-bed general hospital on the former site, covering about 21,000 square meters with emergency treatment, outpatient services, an inpatient ward and auxiliary facilities such as sewage treatment works.
The hospital is fully operational and offers a range of medical services including outpatient and emergency care. The hospital's modern facilities and advanced medical equipment have helped to improve the overall public health of the local communities and support the development of health services.
During the World Health Day on April 7, the Chone Hospital stands as a testament to China's commitment to global health and its efforts to improve the health and well-being of people worldwide.
