Since the outbreak of COVID-19, teams of China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC) in Cambodia have been united in their efforts to ensure the execution of various projects. At present, all such projects are proceeding in an orderly manner as planned.

The operational staff dispatch and material transportation of CHMC’s overseas projects have been affected by the pandemic, bringing new challenges to their execution. The Cambodian project teams took immediate actions to mobilize human and material resources to ensure the implementation of the projects, with their 22 employees all sticking to their posts during the Spring Festival holiday. They carried out scientific field management and introduced well-planned flexible equipment delivery, which helped them overcome the difficulties of logistics delivery and personnel transfer during the pandemic period and have advanced the projects efficiently.

With the close cooperation of the Chinese and Cambodian teams, the first and second phases of the eastern ring network construction and other projects are going ahead smoothly as scheduled.

Keo Rottanak, general director of EDC, the state-owned electricity power company in Cambodia, spoke highly of the current development of Sinomach’s Cambodian projects and expressed his gratitude to Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group Co (Sinomach-HE) and CHMC for continuing to cooperate with Cambodia as usual during the pandemic prevention and control period, which reflected the unbreakable trust and friendship between the two countries. He added that both sides will continue to make concerted efforts to better build Cambodia's electricity infrastructure.
