Zimbabwean president inspects Sinomach project

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, president of Zimbabwe, visited the construction site of the country’s new parliament building in the capital city of Harare on June 13.

SIPPR Engineering Group Co, a subsidiary of Sinomach, is responsible for the design and management of the project.

The president visited the construction site accompanied by Guo Shaochun, Chinese ambassador to Zimbabwe, and several Zimbabwean government officials. He expressed his approval on the quality of construction so far.

He said the new parliament building is a gift from the Chinese people and he will work to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The building started construction on Sept 28, 2018 and is expected to be completed in May 2021. It covers an area of 33,000 square meters.
