Sumec Complete Equipment and Engineering Co has agreed to build a photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of 64MWp in Cam Ranh, Vietnam.

The company, which is affiliated to Sumec Group, a subsidiary of Sinomach, signed an engineering procurement construction (EPC) contract with Central Power Co of Vietnam Electricity (EVNCPC) in Da Nang on March 13.

The project represents a milestone for the development of Vietnam Electricity, since it is the first photovoltaic power project the company has invested in, said a senior executive at EVNCPC.

He also expressed his confidence in Sumec, stating that they have been impressed by the firm’s outstanding performance in the construction of the Cu Jut Solar Power Plant in Dak Nong.

Yang Yongqing, chairman of Sumec Group, expressed his gratitude for EVNCPC’s confidence in the company, saying that he hoped the two sides would strengthen their partnership and expand cooperation in more areas.
