An opening ceremony for a rice processing plant was held in the Orinoco River Delta, Venezuela, on Feb 1.

The plant, which has a daily production capacity of 70 tons, is part of an agricultural complex built by China CAMC Engineering Co, a subsidiary of Sinomach.

Venezuelan government officials headed by Wilmar Castro Soteldo, the minister of agriculture and lands, attended the event and praised CAMC’s work in the country.

The new plant will help relieve local rice shortages and promote the development of regional agriculture, said Soteldo.
