The Venezuelan rural development department issued an official receipt for an agricultural complex built by China CAMC Engineering Co, a subsidiary of Sinomach, on Jan 22.

Located in the Orinoco River Delta, the project is the largest of its kind in Delta Amacuro. During the construction period, CAMC overcame a series of difficulties due to the poor basic infrastructure and long rainy season in the area.

The project, which has a contract value of $193.91 million, included the construction and restoration of a 36-kilometer road, a granary with a storage capacity of 20,000 tons, a rice processing plant with daily production capacity of 70 tons, and a 10MW power station.

It created nearly 100 jobs and increased 2,000 hectares of farmland, efficiently relieving a food shortage and improving the transport infrastructure in the area.
