China National Heavy Machinery Co (CHMC), a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach) has recently launched the second phase of construction work on a 230kV power project in Cambodia.

The project consists of building five transformer substations, expanding nine transformer substations and constructing an 85-kilometer 230kV transmission line and 72-km 115kV transmission line.

Once the project is finished, all the 230kV transmission lines across Cambodia will be connected, which will greatly improve Cambodia's power transmission capacity and help to guarantee the power supply around the country’s capital, Phnom Penh and in the northeastern and western regions of Cambodia.

CHMC has maintained a long-term partnership with Cambodia's State-owned electricity company Electricité du Cambodge, with several local power projects agreed and carried out by CHMC.
