A groundbreaking ceremony for Zimbabwe's new parliament building, the largest China-funded project in southern Africa, was held in Harare, capital of Zimbabwe, on Nov 30.

Designed and managed by SIPPER Engineering Group Co, a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach), the parliament building covers a floorage of 33,000 square meters. It is expected to take a total of 32 months to complete the landmark building.

Once completed, the working environment and facilities of the parliament are expected to represent a significant improvement on the previous national assembly.
