The first lower ring casting of a water turbine for Karot Hydropower Station in Pakistan, which was manufactured by Sinomach Heavy Equipment Group Co, has recently passed an inspection.
The lower ring casting, which has a diameter of 6.4 meters, a height of 1.4 m and a minimum thickness of 45 millimeters is made of martensitic stainless steel, which is easily deformed during processing –– making it difficult to produce a specific size.
Karot Hydropower Station with an installed capacity of 720 mW is the first investment project of the Silk Road Fund since its establishment December 2014.
