SUMEC Hardware and Tools Co, a subsidiary of Sinomach, received an RED (Radio Equipment Directive) certificate for its lawn mower robot on July 17.

The lawn mower robot is the first to receive this certification anywhere in the world. The certificate is issued by TÜV SÜD, a leading German third-party certification institution.

Since 2009, the company has worked with several universities and institutes, including Southeast University and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences, in the research and development of the product.

It received the world’s first GS (Germany Safety) certificate for a lawn mower robot from TÜV Rheinland, one of the world's top 10 third-party quality testing institutions, in 2013.
