The national R&D project, the 3000kN/7500kNm large fully hydraulic forging operation machine initiated by Sinomach’s Sino-Heavymach research institute received final approval from nine experts dispatched by the National Science and Technology Major Project Management Office.

The expert team examined the project’s technical files in minute detail and received a report about the research findings during the project by the China National Heavy Machinery Research Institute Co Ltd (Sino-Heavymach), a subsidiary of China National Machinery Industry Corporation.

They also toured Jiangsu Guoguang Heavy Machinery Co where the 3000kN/7500kNm large forging operation machine worked on-site.

Experts are in agreement that the project has performed well, conforming to the appraisal criteria for complete files, contracted research content and intellectual property.

The fully hydraulic forging operation machine is a giant heavy-load robot and critical auxiliary equipment for open die forging presses. It is a complex piece of machinery, often operated under extremely challenging circumstances, yet still is capable of a high degree of accuracy for the operator.

Faced with all these possible challenges, Sino-Heavymach based the 3000kN/7500kNm large forging operation machine on China’s key R&D laboratory and its abundant accumulation of research, before finally managing to develop and manufacture the world’s largest fully hydraulic forging operation machine.

The machine has proved to be stable during operations, and has achieved remarkable results since its production.

At present, the project has been granted 17 patents for its invention, nine utility patents, and more than 30 sci-tech papers have been published about it.

Completion and production of the project marks a significant increase in China’s capacity for manufacturing large and extremely large forging parts, and plays an essential role in promoting the country's forging manufacturing technologies all around the world.
